It’s been over 10 years since I accepted Christ into my life. One of the things that helped me the most was studying God’s Word through Bible studies for women.

I’ve been a part of a few different women’s Bible study groups and have been so blessed by them. The Bible study books they have introduced me to have really helped me grow in my walk.

It’s funny how God knows exactly what we need. It took me a long time to understand the importance of fellowship.

The Bible speaks about two being better than one. I love these verses in Ecclesiastes 4:9-12:

“Two are better than one Because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, For he has no one to help him up. Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm; But how can one be warm alone? Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.”

Bible Studies For Women

I know women are busy and Bible study groups may not be doable. Women’s Bible study books are not only for group study. They usually can be completed as a group or on your own. So don’t worry if you don’t have time to attend a group study. You can use these daily Bible study books on your own.

I’ve learned that being a part of a women’s Bible study group keeps me accountable to study. I can easily get distracted at home and I end up only reading my Bible. That’s not a bad thing but I really enjoy diving deeper into the Bible with Topical studies.

Thanks to Bible study groups, I’ve been introduced to some of the best Bible studies for women. These women’s Bible study books have challenged me to dig deeper into God’s Word and actually apply what I’ve learned to my life. Believe me, there are some great Bible studies for women available to you today!

Bible Studies for Women

How to Find a Good Women’s Bible Study

Everyone has a different style when it comes to studying the Bible. My women’s bible study group has eight different women and we all agree that these are the best Bible studies for women so far. It is possible that you may not feel the same way so I thought it would be a great idea to share what we look for in Bible studies for women.

Is This a Women’s Bible Study Book Based on The Bible?

It is true that women can get off-topic and it’s important to recognize that. The women that write these Bible studies are no different. Make sure that the Bible study lesson focuses on scripture and not just a woman’s experience.

Are There Helpful Examples of How to Apply The Bible Lesson?

Sometimes a women’s Bible study will be Biblical but it won’t give you helpful direction on how to achieve success in your own life. This is why I personally love small group Bible studies because you can discuss and encourage each other to grow in a specific area.

Is There Transparency From The Author?

Teaching a Bible study lesson is not easy. Especially if the author doesn’t have experience in that area. Most of us can relate to specific topics we’ve experienced. If we haven’t experienced them then it would be hard to teach a women’s Bible study about it. Make sure the author shares their own experience and victories in the Bible study for women.

Different Types of Bible Studies for Women

Like I mentioned above, you may have a different type of Bible study method and that’s ok. I felt like it would be a good idea to share the different types of books for women’s Bible study with you so you have an easier time finding one.

Different Types of Women Bible Studies:

  • Studying the Bible by Book
  • Topical Bible Studies
  • Studying the Bible in Chronological Order
  • Studying by Word
  • Character Study
  • Group Study
  • Bible Reading Plan

I love to do a topical women’s Bible study personally. While I’m doing a topical study, I like to do word studies too. Sometimes I will just do a book study because I’m really focused on a specific book in the Bible. When I’m in a super busy season, I will complete a Bible reading plan.

Bible reading plans are quick and easy. They don’t take you into a deep Bible study but they are a quick way to find a Bible study topic that you are interested in. You can definitely take them to a deeper level if you have the time.

The Blessing of a Women’s Bible Study

I love people but I mostly like to stay to myself. That changed the moment I walked into my first women’s Bible study. I was surrounded by women who knew the importance of fellowship.

These Bible studies for women have helped shaped me. I never knew the love of the Body of Christ like I do now. I’m currently in one women’s Bible study that’s a small group.

There are only nine of us. We meet once a week for about 3 hours. That may sound like a lot but trust me, it’s been such a Blessing.

At one point, I was in three different women’s Bible study groups. I had to cut back when I started homeschooling my kids because I didn’t have enough time.

Don’t overwhelm yourself with too many Bible studies. Make sure you find one that really speaks to you so you can fully participate.

Best Bible Studies For Women

I’m excited to share my favorite women’s Bible study books with you. I’ve completed several of these studies myself and the rest have been recommended to me by fellow believers. They are all great Bible studies and can be done alone or with a group of women.

Believing God Bible Study Lesson

Believing God by Beth Moore was the very first Bible study I ever did.  It was a great one because I was a baby Christian and Beth Moore is on fire for the Lord. It really gave me a good foundation in my childlike faith.

Now looking back, I was really struggling with believing God. We can know what God says but do we actually believe Him? This is the perfect women’s Bible study to arm you with the tools to believe what God says.

Passion Pursuit Study for Women

Passion Pursuit by Linda Dillow and Dr. Juli Slattery is a different type of study. It’s actually about sex and what goes on in the bedroom. At first, it made me a little shy but once we got past the first few lessons I loosened up.

It never occurred to me how important our intimacy is with our husbands. Unfortunately, I had a world view of sex and made some mistakes in my life. It was really refreshing to see that God has given me permission to have sex and enjoy it without feeling embarrassed or ashamed.

Here are a few highlights from this Bible study for women:

  • What does God say is okay and not okay in the bedroom?
  • I’m 54 years old; how can my husband still be attracted to me?
  • Why did God make men and women so different?

Lies Women Believe Small Group Bible Study

Lies Women Believe by Nancy Demoss Wolgemuth is such an eye-opener. I don’t know about you but I’m easily deceived. This small group women’s Bible study helps you see where you are being deceived.  It takes you right to the root of the lie.

Growing up with a non-Biblical worldview made it hard for me to see through the deception. I imagine even believers from a young age still have an issue with it.

Nancy helps expose areas of deception that are most commonly believed by Christian women.  She shares how we can be delivered from these things and walk in God’s grace, forgiveness, and abundant life.

Ten Women of The Bible Women’s Bible Study Book

Ten Women of the Bible by Max Lucado is a Bible study about women in the Bible. It’s kind of funny that the author is a man but rest assured, it is written with his daughter.

I love this because there we so many important women in the Bible and once you learn more about them it’s easier to connect with their situation.

As we study these women in the Bible, God reveals important truths for us to grasp. Even though they lived in a different time, they still face the issues we face today. (Just a side note that a fellow Christian blogger wrote an amazing 30 day devotional about moms in the Bible and leaving your Mom Legacy.  Click this Leaving Your Mom Legacy Devotional link to read my review.).

Discerning the Voice of God by Priscilla Shirer is all about recognizing when God speaks. You may know Priscilla Shirer from the amazing movie “War Room”.  She is on fire for the Lord and I just love her!

Faithful, Abundant, True Women’s Bible Study

Faithful, Abundant, True features three of my favorite Bible study teachers. It’s a women’s Bible study that is recorded live so if you love watching women’s Bible studies then this one is for you.

Each author teaches something different. Kay teaches pretty much the entire book of Hebrews, Priscilla teaches on God’s abundance, and Beth teaches on discernment. I haven’t personally done this one but the authors are great teachers and the reviews are great!

Overcomer Bible Study

We all experience defeat in our life and we need to remember that we are not defeated, we are Overcomers. We just finished this book in our Women’s Bible study group and it was amazing.

Dr. David Jeremiah shows you how to be an overcomer by using the Armor of God. He goes through each piece of armor and reminds us that God gave us His armor for protection. We can do all things through Christ and when we use each piece of God’s armor properly, we can keep ourselves fully protected.

This Bible study has a DVD and an accompanying workbook to help you dive deeper into this Bible study topic.

Boundaries Bible Study for Women

We all have boundaries but do we recognize them and know how to use them? This women’s Bible study book teaches you just that! Just because you’re a Christian doesn’t mean you need to let other people invade your boundaries.

Boundaries are Biblical and they are essential to protecting your walk with Christ. I’m currently working through this study for women with my Bible study group and it is a huge eye-opener. The author takes you through boundaries you don’t even know you have.

Here are some of the questions this Bible study answers:

  • Am I unloving if I set limits?
  • What boundaries are acceptable?
  • How do I answer someone who wants so much of my time?
  • Should I feel guilty if I say “no”?
  • Should a Christian have boundaries with other Christians?

Make sure to grab the workbook that goes with this women’s study. It is super thorough and will challenge you to apply boundaries to your life!
